Life gets stagnant and boring without striving for a better life. Knowing that, you want to channel that desire for a better life in positive ways, and discourage and mitigate the negative aspects of that human trait. In other words, you encourage people to strive for a better life, but you also make sure that people don’t harm each other in the process, as much as possible.
